Orange Township Fire Department Fires Three Over 'Inappropriate Conduct'

Orange Township Fire Department
Orange Township

Three members of the Orange Township Fire Department were fired on Monday afternoon.

A captain, a lieutenant and a firefighter/paramedic lost their jobs. Orange Township Board of Trustees chair Ryan Rivers did not wade into details about what led to the firings.

“Today’s a very tough day for Orange Township,” he said after the punishments were handed down. “But again, the Orange Township board of trustees takes seriously all allegation of inappropriate conduct or conduct unbecoming made against any employee. The board will not tolerate such unacceptable behavior in the workplace.”

Township authorities were alerted to complaints in late September and wrapped up their investigation November 20. In addition to the firings, the board rejected complaints made against one employee and suspended another for 60 days.
