The spring-like weather is moving out of Central Ohio just as quickly as it moved in.
Another blast of winter precipitation is expected to hit the entire state on Friday, bringing a mix of rain and ice before turning to snow.
The National Weather Service says Columbus will see falling temperatures and a wintry mix of rain, freezing rain, and sleet until about 8 p.m.
That’s when the snow should start. And keep coming.
Forecasters say up to five inches of snow could blanket Central Ohio by Saturday afternoon. That snow will come with winds of up to 25 miles per hour.
As the snow moves in, so will temperatures in the teens. Saturday will bring a high of just 17 degrees and a low of 5. Temperatures are not expected to reach 20 degrees until the Martin Luther King Day holiday on Monday, when more snow is expected.
The approaching weather pushed many Central Ohio district to dismiss early on Friday and cancel evening athletic events.
