Columbus Crew Will Refund 2018 Season Tickets, After All

Columbus Crew

Columbus Crew SC will be offering full refunds for 2018 season ticket memberships, owners announced on Wednesday.

After news broke that the Crew might leave Columbus, upset fans began inquiring about previously purchased season tickets. Initially, the team said it would not offer any refunds.

But now, season ticket holders will be able to get full refunds, effective immediately, until Friday, Nov. 3 at 5 p.m.

"I also understand that the uncertainty surrounding the future of the Club is of concern to our loyal Season Ticket Members who have pledged support for the Club year-in and year-out," Precourt said in a statement Wednesday.

Last week, Crew owner Anthony Precourt announced he would be relocating the team to Austin, Texas, if a new stadium isn't built in downtown Columbus. Mayor Andrew Ginther said he and business officials would meet with Precourt and the MLS commissioner to discuss keeping the team here.

"No final decisions have been made about the future of this Club and Crew SC will play at MAPFRE Stadium in 2018," Precourt added.

Columbus Crew faces Atlanta United in the MLS playoffs on Thursday.
