Plans Revealed For 23-Acre Development In Arena District

Plans for a massive, high-end development project in the Arena District have been unveiled, with a 23-acre project slated to rise behind Huntington Park.

Schottenstein Real Estate Group says the project, called "Grand Central," would be a district of its own.

The project has not yet been finalized, but group president Brian Schottenstein says they have been in multiple conversations with city officials. He says current plans depict a mini-downtown with two residential towers, two hotels, and a conference center.

Grand Central, the company’s largest project in their 40-year history, would also contain a corridor of dozens of boutique restaurants and shops topped with 200 apartments.

Plans for the Grand Central development in Columbus' Arena District include two hotels and a business area.

“It's going to be a real high-end mixed use development, resort style feel,” Schottenstein says. “Possibly the largest development in that area.”

The Department of Development says they do not have enough information to evaluate the project or determine if it is feasible.
