United Healthcare is hosting a job fair Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Dublin, hoping to attract employees to fill the 700 new jobs they announced with Governor John Kasich earlier this month.
United Health Group is planning on renovating and reopening their facility in Dublin, which previously held offices for JPMorgan Chase, by this September. They’ve pledged to bring 700 jobs to the facility in total, over the space of two years, though the space could house up to 1,000 workers. Most of the jobs are call center and customer service related.
Rick Dunlop, the Health Plan CEO for UnitedHealthcare’s Medicare and retirement business in Ohio, says the uncertainty surrounding health care on the legislative level isn’t slowing the company down.
“You know, all those things around reform are going to take care of themselves as things play out," Dunlop says. "What we’ve got is a demonstrated history of kinda evolving with the changes and being successful, so we’re not particularly concerned about it at this time.”
Dunlop says most of though many of the 1,000 current Central Ohio employees telecommute, these new jobs are intended to be in office at the Dublin facility.
The addition of these jobs will bring the number of UnitedHealthcare workers in the state to over 4,000 employees.
