Twenty One Pilots Returning To Columbus With Hometown Tour

Twenty One Pilots
The tour includes shows at The Basement, the Newport Music Hall, and Express Live June 20-22.

The pop duo Twenty One Pilots has come a long way since growing up in Columbus. Now the Grammy Award-winning act is bringing its accolades back home with three smaller shows that will use a lottery for access to tickets.

The duo made up of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun hit the pop mainstream with the single “Stressed Out,” from their 2015 album Blurryface, and followed it up with other successful tracks like “Ride” and "Heathens."

Last month, Twenty One Pilots was named Best Pop Duo at the Grammy Awards, but instead of turning that success into shows in 20,000-seat arenas, they’re holding a string of intimate shows around Columbus.

They’ve scheduled June shows on successive days at The Basement, the Newport Music Hall, and Express Live.

The band used Facebook posts and a YouTube video Monday morning to announce what it's calling "Tour De Columbus."

Tickets for all of the shows will be $39.50. People have until 11:59 p.m. Tuesday to register at the band’s website, and winners will be sent a code on Wednesday afternoon and will have an hour to buy tickets.
