Columbus fire officials say a 16-year-old girl, her mother, and her grandmother died in a house fire early Friday morning.
Fire Battalion Chief Steve Martin says the fire in the 5000 block of Cherry Creek Parkway was reported around 3 a.m.
"One of the gentlemen that lived in the house smelled smoke," Martin says. "He was able to get himself out. He tried to get his wife, mother-in-law, and daughter out of the house, but was unsuccessful."
Names of the victims were not immediately released.
Martin says the man was listed in serious condition at a local hospital.
