A piece of prime real estate near the Ohio State University campus is set to become a mix of apartments, houses and offices.
A team led by Wagenbrenner Development and Fortress Real Estate Companies has agreed to buy 20 acres immediately south of the Battelle headquarters.
It’s a prized location in the Harrison West neighborhood wedged between OSU, the Wexner Medical Center, State Route 315, and the Short North.
The sale price wasn’t disclosed, but the project is expected to be valued around $80 million. The lot is mostly open space now and development is expected to begin by 2018.
Battelle says they’ll use the proceeds to renovate their headquarters.
