A record number of women enrolled in medical schools across the country this year, including at Ohio State University.

The Association of American Medical Colleges reports that the number of women in medical schools rose by 6.2 percent to 10,474. That's the largest jump in 10 years.

Overall enrollment for men and women climbed to more than 21,000.

Dr. Quinn Capers IV, Associate Dean for Admissions at Ohio State's College of Medicine, says that more women are enrolling at OSU. Out of 205 medical students, a little more than half are women.
