Internet retail giant Amazon says it plans to build its second wind farm in Ohio, this one in Hardin County.

Amazon says the 189 megawatt wind farm near Kenton will be up and running by December 2017. It’s expected to generate enough electricity to power about 50,000 homes a year.

Amazon’s first wind farm is still under construction in northwest Ohio’s Paulding County and is expected to be fully operational by next May. Amazon says both wind farms will send power back into the grid that powers its operations in Ohio and Virginia.

The internet retailer recently opened two data centers in Central Ohio.

Amazon says the Hardin County wind farm is their fifth renewable energy project, and puts them ahead of schedule to get half of their power from renewable sources by the end of next year.
