Ohio’s Unemployment Rate Ticks Up Slightly From August

The number of workers unemployed in Ohio rose slightly in September.  The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services reports the unemployment was 4.8 percent in September, up from 4.7 percent in August.

ODJFS finds 275,000 workers in Ohio did not have a job.  That’s up 4,000 from August.

In the past year, the number of unemployed in the state has increased by 12,000.

The U.S. unemployment rate also rose for September to 5.0 percent.  That’s up from 4.9 percent in August.
