Central Ohio Jobless Rate Slips Below 4 Percent

State officials say Central Ohio is the only metro region in the state with a jobless rate under 4 percent.

Central Ohio’s unemployment rate slipped in August to under 4 percent, making it the only metro area in the state to have a jobless rate that low.

The rate is down from 4 percent in July, according to numbers released by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

Delaware County had an unemployment rate of 3.4 percent and Madison and Union counties had rates of 3.5 percent.

Rates decreased in 72 of Ohio’s 88 counties, were flat in 15 counties and rose in one county.
