Police in Columbus say a man has been charged with murder after he shot two children, one of them fatally, on the east side yesterday.
Authorities say 12-year-old Cheyenne R. Stewart died of a gunshot wound shortly after 5:30 p.m. Sunday inside a home on Kenview Road South.
A 10-year-old boy is in critical condition at Nationwide Children's Hospital with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He's expected to survive.
Police have charged 59-year-old Milous Keith III with murder and felonious assault. He's being held in Franklin County Jail. It wasn't immediately known if he's represented by a lawyer.
The suspect is reportedly the children's uncle, and the shooting reportedly happened as the children were watching television with their grandmother.
