Court Documents: OSU Coach Witnessed Sandusky Abuse In '90's While At Penn State

Court documents in a Jerry Sandusky civil case unsealed today name an OSU assistant football coach who once coached at Penn State. The documents allege that Penn State Football Coach Joe Paterno knew as far back as the 1970's that assistant coach Jerry Sandusky was molesting boys.

An alleged victim said he personally told Paterno in 1976 of an assault, but Paterno told him he did not want to hear about it.

The documents also allege that current Ohio State Defensive coordinator Greg Schiano witnessed an assault when Schiano was a Penn State assistant in the 1990's.

Mike McQueary, a former assistant who testified against Sandusky at trial, said in a 2015 deposition "Greg (Schiano) had come into his office white as a ghost and said he just saw Jerry doing something to a boy in the shower," McQueary testified.

Schiano tells ESPN he never saw or suspected any abuse during his time at Penn State.

McQueary also testified that former Penn State defensive coordinator Tom Bradley was "not shocked" when told of an assault in 2001.

Bradley, who briefly took over as head coach after Paterno's firing, "said he knew of some things" about Sandusky dating to the 1980s, McQueary testified.

Paterno died in 2012 after being fired. Sandusky is in prison after being convicted of dozens of counts of sexual abuse of young boys.

After leaving Penn State, Schiano coached at Rutgers and with the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers before coming to Ohio State.
