Several Columbus activist communities are banding together to hold a protest against police brutality that was previously canceled due to the shooting of police officers in Dallas.
A Black Lives Matter protest scheduled for Friday night by the group CBUS2Ferguson was postponed earlier in the day due to safety concerns.
The group of activists wrote on Facebook, "we cannot guarantee a safe space but unfortunately there is no such thing as a safe space for black folks in the United States of America."
Organizers also wrote they are seeking to honor the lives of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, both of whom were black men killed by police officers earlier this week in other parts of the country.
The protest is scheduled to take place at the Franklin Park Amphitheatre starting at 7 p.m.

At least one Black Lives Matter protest in Columbus has been postponed because of the police shootings in Dallas.
The group CBUS2Ferguson posted on its Facebook page that the Dallas shootings and an increased police presence in Ohio because of the Republican National Convention forced them to delay Friday night's rally at Franklin Park until the end of the month.
Another march planned for tomorrow afternoon from Battelle Riverfront Park to the Statehouse is still scheduled to take place.
