A Columbus veteran who had his Army discharge changed 60 years after he was kicked out for being gay has died.
Donald Hallman was kicked out of the Army in 1955 for being gay. He says he kept it a secret for decades.
Following the Obama administration's appeal of the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy, Hallman told Stonewall Columbus he applied for and eventually received a reversal of his dishonorable discharge.

It wasn’t immediately clear how Hallman died. He was 83 years old.
