Former Dispatch Publisher John Wolfe Dead At 72

The Columbus Partnership

Former Columbus Dispatch publisher and businessman John Wolfe has died.

Wolfe, whose family owned the newspaper for 110 years, sold The Dispatch last year to Gatehouse Media. The Wolfe family owns WBNS-10TV.

Wolfe died this afternoon at the Wexner Medical Center at Ohio State.

Ohio Governor John Kasich said the death of Wolfe was a personal loss for him.

"John’s devotion to his community was unmatched and no one had a closer eye on the workings of state government. As Karen and I join John’s family and colleagues in their grief, we also celebrate the lasting mark he has made on his state and community."

John Wolfe was 72 years old.
