A judge has dismissed a complaint that alleged a State Highway Patrol dispatcher didn't notify a trooper about a reported reckless driver before a crash that killed another Ohio motorist.
The lawsuit in the Ohio Court of Claims said the dispatcher and patrol should have known such a failure could lead to harm. The patrol had declined to comment on the case, but its lawyers said the case should be dismissed.
Records show a judge agreed last month. He concluded that even if the facts presented were true, they weren't enough to sustain the claim seeking at least $25,000 in damages.
The July 2013 crash killed Chillicothe (chihl-ih-KAWTH'-ee) attorney Annie Rooney. Her father filed the lawsuit.
The drunken driver blamed in the crash was sentenced to eight years in prison.
