Jury Can't Reach Verdict In Teacher's Sexual Abuse Trial

Delaware County Sheriff's Office

Jurors say they're hopelessly deadlocked and can't reach a verdict in the case of an Ohio chess teacher accused of sexually abusing two of his students.

The jury made that declaration earlier this week after more than 12 hours of deliberation over two days.

F. Leon Wilson is accused of twice touching a 4-year-old at a preschool and a 7-year-old at an elementary school in April. The 62-year-old Columbus teacher is charged with gross sexual imposition.

Delaware County prosecutors say they will discuss a possible retrial with the families.

Defense attorney Bradley Koffel says it's a victory any time someone accused of a crime like this is able to walk out from the court and go home.
