Authorities say a crash left a central Ohio middle school student dead and two others hospitalized.

Authorities say the a sport utility vehicle the boys were traveling in Tuesday morning left the roadway, rolled over and hit a tree in Galloway, about 10 miles southwest of Columbus.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says 14-year-old Stevie Ray of Columbus became trapped in the vehicle and died at the scene.

Authorities say 16-year-old Jeremy Taylor, who was driving, and 13-year-old Austen Taylor were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

All three were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Many schools in the area were closed Tuesday after snowfall caused slick road conditions.

Hilliard Memorial Middle School Principal Barry Bay says counselors will be available.
