Police say a 15-year-old girl was in critical condition after being shot in the head while she and four other children were alone in a home in southwestern Ohio.

Dayton police say do not know where the weapon came from or who pulled the trigger in the shooting Sunday night.

Officers were dispatched shortly before 9 p.m. after the girl was driven to a Dayton hospital by her father. She was later flown to a Cincinnati hospital. Hospital officials say they cannot release information on the girl.

Police Sgt. Gordon Cairns said detectives were investigating and interviewing the children.

No charges have been filed.
