It’s a meeting of full of firsts for Columbus City Council on Monday.

It’s the first meeting including new members Elizabeth Brown and Michael Stinziano, although both Democrats are well known in the public sector.

Brown is the daughter of U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown and a former employee in the city’s department of development. Stinziano is the son of a long-term state lawmaker of the same name, and himself served three terms in the Ohio House. Stinziano and Brown are also the first two members elected to council without first being appointed in 18 years.

Council tonight is also expected to pick a new president. That’s expected to be Zach Klein, even though he’s running to be the next Franklin County prosecutor.
