Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman Leaves Office

Sam Hendren, WOSU Radio
Flanked by friends, family and colleagues, long-time Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman left office Thursday.

Michael Coleman, the longest serving Mayor of Columbus, left office today. But not before making some final remarks.

“Thank you to our citizens for allowing me to serve. Thank you to all our residents in every part of this great city,” Coleman told a group of well-wishers outside City Hall.

Coleman will be succeeded by fellow Democrat Andrew Ginther. Ginther is scheduled to be sworn in Thursday evening in a ceremony at COSI.
