Ohio jobseekers can head online to find more job postings than ever before.
A total of nearly 50,000 jobs openings were posted online from mid-October through mid-November of this year for several Central Ohio counties. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services reports the latest numbers show an increase of more than 9.600 online job ads over last year.
Department Spokeswoman, Angela Terez says while the number of online job postings does not equal the number of jobs available it can give some insight.
"The reports can definitely tell you something about the labor market of a specific region at a specific time. And this month's report for Central Ohio was definitely a good report," said Terez.
The top occupation with online ads is heavy and tractor trailer truck drivers, followed by retail sales workers and nurses.
Salaries for the postings show 28% are for middle income jobs with $30 to $49,000 salaries.
