Authorities say a tractor-trailer driver was killed after his rig crashed into an EMS vehicle that had stopped for an earlier crash near Mansfield.
The Ohio State Highway patrol says the Mifflin Township ambulance was parked on the left side of the westbound lanes on Route 30 Sunday in Richland County.
A semi tractor-trailer hit the back of the ambulance, swerved across the westbound lanes and veered off the right side of the road into a wooded area.
Authorities say the truck caught fire after the crash, killing 52-year-old Anthony Fuerst.
Two emergency responders were taken to a Mansfield hospital as a precaution.
The crash remains under investigation.
