A 20-year-old central Ohio man is going to prison for at least 31 years after being found guilty of shooting three homeless people as they slept.
Carl Quiller Jr. was sentenced on Wednesday to life in prison with no chance of parole for 31 years. A jury in Columbus found him guilty last month of murder, attempted murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence.
One man died, and a man and a woman were injured in two separate attacks.
Prosecutors say a 63-year-old man died after being shot in the head while he slept in his pickup truck last Sept. 20. The previous day, a man and a woman were shot as they slept in a field.
Quiller denied that he did either one.
