For the first time ever, NCAA football players are getting cash on top of their scholarships. But some players at the University of Cincinnati could lose some of that money if the head coach and athletic director get their way.
Depending on the schools, players can get up to a few thousand dollars a year to help meet "the true cost of attendance" that includes things like peripheral expenses like parking and groceries.
The University of Cincinnati is among the schools now considering deducting money from a player's stipend, or fining them, for breaking team rules.
