Traffic deaths in Ohio are up, reflecting a national trend. The National Safety Council says during the first six months of this year traffic deaths rose by 14 percent across the country.
Vincent Shireyof the Ohio Highway Patrol says traffic deaths in Ohio mirror the national numbers.
"Right now we have confirmed fatalites of 604 and if you add in our provisional fatalities of 61, we're up about that same percentage for the state this year, 2015, " Shirey said.
Shirey says so far this year, 665 people have died on Ohio's roadways. Across the country, 19,000 people have died in traffic accidents.
