The Dublin City Council meets Monday night to discuss a new downtown "walkable" neighborhood development. Plans for Bridge Park are advancing, but there's been some contention.
The city of Dublin's website talks as if Bridge Park is a done deal. The project will occupy 30 acres along the Scioto River connected to Dublin's historic downtown by a pedestrian bridge.
City Manager Dana McDaniel says the development will propel Dublin forward.
“The Bridge Street district as you know is an entertainment, dining, retail and office destination, with riverfront parks and appealing housing options that is poised to be our next economic development driver creating new jobs, attracting a young and talented workforce and retaining seasoned professionals,” McDaniel says.
Not everyone agrees. The project has been criticized for its lack of style.

Others have said the plan is too car-centric.
Nevertheless, the city council meets tonight for a public hearing. Council members will discuss the public/private partnership required to see Bridge Park's completion.
