A suspect has pleaded not guilty in the shooting death of a woman whose slaying is one of several deaths and disappearances troubling residents of Chillicothe.
Jason McCrary is charged with murder in the death of Timberly Claytor earlier this year.
The indictment carries the possibility of additional prison time because the 37-year-old McCrary is alleged to have used a gun in the slaying and is allegedly a repeat violent offender under Ohio law because of a previous conviction of aggravated robbery.
The body of the 38-year-old Claytor was found in nearby Massieville on May 29.
McCrary entered a not guilty plea Monday in Ross County Court. He remains jailed on $850,000 bond.
