City Authorities Search for 'Energy Drink Bandit'

Columbus City Attorney's Office
Corey Jay Meadows is charged with stealing 103 cases of energy supplements.

Columbus authorities are looking for a man they say stole cases of energy drinks from three different Meijer stores around the city.

City Attorney Richard Pfeiffer alleges 30 year old Corey Meadows stole a total of 103 cases of 5-hour Energy drinks worth $1,582.57.

Assistant City Prosecutor Bill Hedrick said Meadows is either "a cog in an organized theft ring or one seriously wired energy drink addict who hasn't slept in months."

The city attorney's office said Meadows, of the south side, has a long criminal record.
