Columbus Police say officers shot an armed man after a hit-and-run accident on the West side Thursday night.
Police say officers were impounding a car believed to involved in the accident when a man emerged from an apartment at 4667 Clare Drive with a handgun.
Police say officers ordered the man to drop the weapon, but he refused and The Division of Police said Officer Christopher Journey shot the man in the arm and torso.
He was expected to survive. Police did not immediately comment on any possible criminal charges.
