Archie Griffin, president and CEO of the Ohio State Alumni Association will step down to assume a new role as senior advisor within the university’s Office of Advancement, OSU said in a statement released Tuesday.
Griffin has led the Ohio State Alumni Association since 2004. Prior to that, he served for 20 years in the university’s Department of Athletics.
OSU President Michael Drake said Griffin has been a tireless champion of the university. “I am thrilled that Archie will continue his legacy of leadership at Ohio State,” Drake said.
Griffin will deliver the spring commencement address to more than 10,000 graduates on May 10 at Ohio Stadium.
Griffin is a 1976 graduate of Ohio State.
