The Central Ohio Transit Authority now says a popular free bus route will remain free through the end of the year.
The downtown circulator route known as Cbus runs from 3rd Avenue in the Short North to Sycamore Street in German Village. It's been popular with visitors, and was only expected to remain free through May 3rd. That changed today when COTA trustees extended free fares through next April.
A COTA press release says the fare extension was only possible because of money from several downtown businesses and organizations.
COTA says more than a half-million people will ride Cbus during its first year.
