Columbus Police say no charges have been filed after a man was shot by an officer outside an East Side bar early Sunday.
Police say two special duty officers approached a car around 2 a.m. outside Lucky’s Bar on Hamilton Road because of loud music.
Police say Officer Emanuel Woods got into an “altercation” with the man who was shot.
Police did not provide details on what led to the altercation. Police say the man shot had a gun, but have not said if the gun was raised or aimed.
The Columbus Dispatch quotes the man’s mother as saying he was profiled for being African American, having dreadlocks, and having a gun that he was authorized to carry.
