Mount Carmel announced it will move its main hospital operations to a new facility in Grove City

A Mount Carmel Health Systems executive says the most appropriate place for hospital beds is in Grove City. Thursday night, Mount Carmel announced it will move its main hospital operations out of Franklinton to a new facility in Grove City.

The full service hospital in Grove City will be completed by 2018. It will include a half-million square foot office building and a medical office building. The new hospital will have 210 private rooms.

The emergency room just west of downtown will remain open and the hospital’s nursing college will expand.

Mount Carmel says the moves are part of a 700-million dollar project that also includes construction at Mount Carmel East.
