Down gas prices are expected to have more people driving around the state today, which is already one of the biggest travel days of the year. Drivers have been celebrating the sharp drop in gas prices for several weeks. That consumer optimism brightened even more this week, when gas prices fell another 22 cents to $2.19 a gallon in Ohio. That puts Ohio among the ten states in the country with the lowest prices. Even before the latest price drop, auto club Triple A predicted nearly 100 million Americans would travel at least 50 miles from home during the holidays. That includes nearly 4 million Ohioans, a five percent increase over last year.
