Reynoldsburg Teacher Strike Enters Its Second Full Week

A teacher's strike in Reynoldsburg enters its second full week Monday. Negotiators for the Reynoldsburg Board of Education and Reynoldsburg Education Association met Sunday with a federal mediator. But, little progress was reported. The meeting ended without agreement. Union spokeswoman, Kim Cooper, says she doesn't see the strike ending in the near future. Merit pay, health care, class size, and teacher turn-over are all among unresolved issues. The district continues to operate during the strike with substitute teachers and added security. Last week, the district bought additional computers for high schoolers to boost online learning. The Reynoldsburg Education Association will hold a general membership meeting later this morning (Monday). Reynoldsburg enrolls 7,000 students.
