The fired director of Ohio State's marching band has played in and helped conduct the alumni band during its annual game-day appearance. According to numerous social media posts, Jonathan Waters received a standing ovation after conducting the alumni band during Saturday's events, taking place in conjunction with the Buckeyes' home game against Kent State. The gathering included a joint ramp entrance and halftime show by current and alumni band members. The 37-year-old Waters was fired July 24 after a university investigation concluded he knew about but didn't stop a "sexualized culture" within what's called The Best Damn Band in The Land. TBDBITL Alumni Club members have backed Waters' reinstatement. A representative said all former members and past directors were invited to Saturday's event. About 700 signed up.
