A rally is planned outside an suburban Dayton Wal-Mart store where a man was fatally shot by police. The rally Saturday is the latest effort by people wanting to shed more light on the Aug. 5 shooting of 21-year-old John Crawford III inside the store in Beavercreek. Police responded after a caller said a man was waving a gun; they say Crawford refused orders to put down an air rifle. His family met this week with a federal prosecutor and wants a federal investigation. Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine has said a special grand jury will meet Sept. 22 to consider charges in the case. Organizers say civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton will come to southwest Ohio next month to speak about the case.
