Former OSU Star Files Second Lawsuit Over "Road Rage" Charges

Jim Stillwagon, a fixture on the 1968 OSU football team that won the national championship, has filed a lawsuit against the Delaware County prosecutor's office for what Stillwagon's attorney calls "cooked up" charges. Stillwagon was indicted two years ago after what was initially described as a "road rage" incident that stretched more than ten miles. Stillwagon is suing for the usually-secret evidence presented to the grand jury that issued his indictment. Delaware Police said Stillwagon was riding a motorcycle near Plain City in October 2012 when some type of incident ensued with a man driving a pickup truck. Police said the two followed each other closely for 14 miles before Stillwagon fired shots on a U.S. 23 off-ramp onto East Williams St. The man shot, Richard mattingly, was treated and released from a local hospital. He later admitted to being drunk during the encounter. Charges were thrown out by a judge who said prosecutors lacked evidence.
