Unemployment fell in every Ohio county last month, and Central Ohio fared especially well in April. Franklin, Delaware, Union, and Logan counties had some of the state's lowest unemployment rates in April, with Delaware leading the region at a 3.6 percent jobless rate. The overall unemployment rate for the Columbus metro area was 4.3 percent, the lowest in more than seven years. Morrow and Pickaway were the only counties in the area with unemployment rates above 5.0 percent. Western Ohio's Mercer County had Ohio's lowest unemployment rate at 3.0 percent. The worst unemployment rates come mostly from southern and southeast Ohio, with Monroe County leading the way at 10.7 percent unemployment.
