Race and sports have been back in the headlines this week with news that L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling was being banned from the NBA for life for racist comments he made about African Americans. Another franchise thatâs taken criticism is the Cleveland Indians, whoâs Chief Wahoo logo has been called a racist caricature by some Native Americans. Jeff Yang writes for the Wall Street Journal, and recently wrote a piece for the web site Quartz about how the Indians are phasing out Chief Wahoo, likely for economic reasons. Steve Brown and Thomas Bradley spoke to Yang for WOSUâs sports podcast After the Score. Click the play button above to hear their conversation.
