The Ohio Department of Transportation on Tuesday unveiled a map designating sections of interstate where the new top speed limit will be 70 miles per hour. 570 miles of interstate highways, outside major cities, will allow drivers to travel faster. The higher speed limits were passed by the legislature. The new limits take effect on July 1st. Ohio joins 34 other states that have some posted speed limits of 70 miles per hour, including Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, and West Virginia. The Ohio Department of Transportation will spend $8,287 to make 317 new speed limit signs.
