Three Columbus police officers have been cleared of any wrong-doing more than a year after they participated in the shooting of suspects. Thomas Pellagrini was cleared in a January 4th, 2012 shooting that occurred near Mount Vernon and Burt Street in which the suspect was injured. Two days later, on January 6th, 2012, officers Christopher Britt and Robin Medley shot and killed a suspect near East 14th Avenue. The Firearms/Police-Involved Death Review Board found that the three acted within Columbus Division of Police Firearms policy.
