Columbus Priest Arrested For Attempted Rape

A Greek Orthodox priest has been arrested on sex crime charges in a sting that developed after the priest posted an ad on an adult social networking site. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says Patrick Hughes was arrested Wednesday night when he arrived at a location where he thought he was meeting a 9-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy for sex. Sheriff Zach Scott says the 56-year-old Hughes was arrested on charges of attempted rape and attempted unlawful sexual contact with a minor. Hughes was an interim Priest at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral on North High Street at the time of his arrest.
