"Heartbeat Bill" Fracturing Ohio's Anti-Abortion Community

The so-called “Heartbeat Billâ€? is causing another rift in Ohio’s anti-abortion community. If passed, the bill would be the toughest anti-abortion law in the nation by outlawing abortions in Ohio after the first medically detectable fetal heartbeat. The group Ohio Right to Life has backed away from it out of fear it could be ruled unconstitutional. That’s leading the Warren County Right to Life branch to leave the organization and join Ohio Prolife Action, which is backing the bill. The legislation cleared the Ohio House earlier this year but has stalled in the Senate.
