Forty Indicted In "Largest" Central Ohio Crystal Meth Seizure

A Franklin County Grand Jury has indicted 40 people in what has been called the largest crystal meth seizure in Central Ohio. Local drug enforcement agencies have shut down a drug ring that was selling crystal meth on Columbus's Near East, West and South Sides. A recent raid garnered more than 5 pounds of the drug - with a street value of more than $250,000. Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien said some arrests already have been made. "The police know where they live and they can't hide for that long and they can't hide on the street. So they'll eventually find all of them," O'Brien said. The most serious charges include aggravated drug trafficking and engaging in corrupt activity - first degree felonies. O'Brien expects those who are already in custody to appear in court Friday. The drug raid comes after an 18 month investigation.
