Ohio Governor-elect John Kasich was wasting no time digging into the state's budget mess after he led a Republican sweep of the state in Tuesday's election.
In a news conference yesterday, Kasich announced three key appointments He named campaign manager Beth Hansen as his chief of staff. The new position of state policy director was given to Wayne Struble, who served as Kasich's policy director when he chaired the U.S. House Budget Committee in the 1990s. Kasich says Struble will coordinate key policy initiatives in all the cabinet agencies.
Kasich named Tim Keen as the state's next budget director. Keen served as deputy budget director and briefly as director under the state's last Republican administration.
