60 Mile Walk Highlights Ohio Indian Mound Sites.

Ohio has no Indian reservations, but it does have ANCIENT Native American ceremonial sites. And Saturday, about 25 people are planning to begin a 60-mile walk from one site to another. It's being billed as the first such walk in 500 years. Richard Sheels is helping organize the trek. He's an associate history professor at the Ohio State University Newark campus, and he explains the walk, in an interview with Ohio Public Radio's Bill Cohen.

He says the U.S. Department of the Interior has recommended that the United Nations designate the ceremonial mounds at Newark and Chillicothe as a World Heritage Site. That would honor it as one of the world's most important historical places.
